(19:21) WATSONVILLE- A Watsonville man was arrested on drug and gun charges following a Thursday traffic stop. Authorities say that a patrol unit stopped a vehicle near Blackburn Street and Riverside Drive at 5 p.m. after spotting the driver illegally using a cell phone. The officer determined that 72 year old Juan Paulo Alcala was an unlicensed driver with prior convictions. A search of the vehicle uncovered a loaded pistol, 8,000 dollars in cash and methamphetamine packaged for sale. Alcala was booked into county jail.
