(06:00) SANTA CRUZ – Santa Cruz residents are being asked to submit nominations for the Tony Hill Award. The annual award celebrates local advocates for social and economic justice. The selection committee is particularly interested in youth who are committed to implementing innovative solutions in the community. Award recipients will receive $500 to donate to the charity of their choice. The award will be presented in February at the 32nd annual Martin Luther King Jr. Convocation at UC Santa Cruz. Nominations will be accepted through January 11 and are being accepted at ucsc.edu/tonyhill . (S.G.)
