(08:10) Monterey – A man suffered fatal injuries after he crashed into a car and power pole. The incident took place on Wednesday on Highway 1 in Monterey. 30 year-old Mario Olvera was driving on Westside Boulevard, near Buena Vista Road, and failed to yield to another vehicle. Olvera’s car spun into a power pole, knocking out the electricity for several hours. CHP reported that alcohol and drugs did not play a role in the cause of the accident.
