(10:11) SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – Nickelodeon Theatres in Santa Cruz County has been sold to a Los Angeles-based theatre corporation. The owners of Nickelodeon Theatres, Jim Schwenterly and his partner Paul Gottlober, are retiring. The local theatre branch, which includes the Del Mar, the Nick, and Aptos Cinema, is now owned by Landmark Theatre Corporation. Landmark currently owns over 50 theatres in cities across the U.S., including New York City, Chicago, Boston and San Francisco. Their film fare includes independent films and foreign films. The public will begin to see changes at the theatres in mid-December. (S.G.)
