(10:49) SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – Santa Cruz County officials have cleared two deputies involved in a shooting in Boulder Creek. Deputies Kyle Matson and Stephen Ragusano fatally shot 17-year-old Cyrus Hurtado on July 9th after he walked out of his home armed with a rifle. The deputies had been called to the scene after Hurtado reportedly beat his grandfather and killed a kitten. District Attorney Jeff Rosell has ruled that Matson and Ragusano acted within the law and there was no criminal liability. Following the incident, both deputies were placed on administrative leave.
