(08:24) SANTA CRUZ – Santa Cruz County officials are holding an event Wednesday to address veteran homelessness. Local veterans, public officials, and experts in the field of housing and homelessness plan to make a major announcement at the meeting. There are currently 193 homeless veterans in Santa Cruz County. The event will seek to address the issue with the help of the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Housing and Urban Development and various nonprofits. The event will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Santa Cruz County Veterans Memorial Building on Front Street. (S.G.)
