The city of Hollister has received a Notice Of Violation. That’s because of a couple of spills that were discharged into the San Benito River in 2016. The first of those spills (which was purportedly due to the valve failure of a slide-gate), was in mid-July; while the second was the same valve failing again in early September. The document further states that the unauthorized waste discharges were in violation of the United States Clean Water Act.
