North Monterey High School was locked down then evacuated today after a threatening email. The decision to lock down the campus happened about noon as authorities examined an email sent to multiple faculty members threatening to shoot several victims. Explosives were also alleged on school grounds. Shortly before 2 p.m. all the student body was transported to a nearby middle school, where parents were advised to pick up their children. A search of the campus by law enforcement teams did not uncover any explosive devices. The incident remains under investigation.
