At today’s Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission Meeting, multiple members of the public expressed great concern regarding the pedestrian crossing off highway 1 in Davenport.
Concerns ranged from speeding drivers, the current speed limit being too high, the lack of a painted crosswalk, and the danger for cyclists. One member of the public called this myriad of safety issues “The perfect storm”.
After deliberations of this topic, RTC staff members were directed to meet with Caltrans and Public Works to develop a proposal for design and construction of traffic safety improvements in Davenport.
