Signs have been installed along Highway 1 outside Point Lobos State Reserve as a safety precaution. That’s because Monterey county officials are anticipating a lot of traffic along the coast around the 4th of July holiday. Traffic engineers say they want to keep the shoulder of the Coast Highway open, in case they need to get emergency vehicles into, and out of, the Big Sur Area.
