NO ONE WAS INJURED WHEN A BIG-RIG STRUCK THE GUARD RAIL OF THE SALINAS RIVER BRIDGE AND CAUGHT FIRE YESTERDAY (TUESDAY). THE SOLO-VEHICLE INCIDENT OCCURRED ON NORTHBOUND HIGHWAY 101, JUST NORTH OF BROADWAY IN KING CITY. THE BRIDGE SUFFERED SOME DAMAGE IN THE ACCIDENT, AND IT TOOK WORKERS A WHILE TO CLEAN UP THE 30-50 GALLONS OF DIESEL FUEL THAT SPILLED.
