Firefighters from cal-fire were called to the scene of a leaky trash can in aromas on Monday. That’s because somebody reported a bubbling liquid coming from the green, 33-gallon can, which caused authorities to prepare for a hazmat situation. Cal-fire crews confirmed that the scene at murphy’s crossing near highway-129 was safe after determining that the substance was grease from a grease trap. Public works crews were called to clean up the scene.
