Santa Cruz County Health Officer Dr. Gail Newel says no decision has been made to close the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk or any other business beyond the existing Shelter in Place order, which expires May 3.
The health officer said that while Gov. Newsom has signaled that large gatherings of people may be difficult for the foreseeable future, Newell said she and other health officers throughout the Bay Area are working together to consider a replacement order allowing some activities to resume. She stressed speculation about future operations at this time is premature.
