No Death in Santa Cruz Knife Attack 01-30-19 16:30 DC

Santa Cruz police say despite jail records to the contrary, none of the victims of a Saturday night stabbing has died.

26-year-old Dennis Wells is accused in the double stabbing which occurred downtown. On Wednesday afternoon, online jail records said he was being held on a first-degree murder charge.

Police Chief Andy Mills said Wells actually faces two charges of assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury. Both of Wells’ victims survived the knife attack.
