YESTERDAY WAS THE DEADLINE FOR A GROUP THAT BACKED A PROPOSITION FOR THE NOVEMBER BALLOT. THE COMMITTEE FOR RESPONSIBLE CHANGE NEEDED 15 HUNDRED SIGNATURES, BUT THEY FELL SHORT IN THE EFFORT TO GET THE WATSONVILLE CITY ANNEXATION OF 80 ACRES OF FARMLAND ONTO THIS NOVEMBER’S BALLOT. ORGANIZERS STILL PLAN TO TRY AND GET THE ANNEXATION ONTO A LATER BALLOT.
