MCo Gets J-And-J Vaccine 03-10-21 09:42 S.S.

Monterey county  has  received  5,000  doses  of  the  new  single-dose  Johnson  And  Johnson  Vaccine.    Those  doses  have  been  given  to  local  providers  such  as  Community  Hospital  Of  The  Monterey  Peninsula  and  Salinas  Valley  Memorial  Hospital.

C.H.O.M.P.  plans  to  provide  the  single-dose  shots  in  a  clinic  this  Thursday.....but  only  to  those  65  years-old  and  older  who  live  in  the  2  specific  zipcodes  of 93933  and  93955......while  S.V.M.H.  Plans  to  provide  those  doses  during  a  Taylor  Farms  Clinic  in  Gonzales  next  week.  A  spokesperson  for  S.V.M.H.  said  they  decided  on  that  action  because  that  clinic  typically  serves  a  population  that is  harder  to  reach,  so  the  single-shot vaccine  makes  more  sense  for  them.

Rite Aid, CVS and Walgreens  may  also  have  received  some  doses  of  the  Johnson-And-Johnson  Vaccine,  which  was  formerly  known  as  the  Janssen  Covid-19 Vaccine.

There  will  reportedly  be  a  gap  in  receiving  the  newer  vaccine  next  week,  but  they  are  expected  to  return  the  following  week.
