Hollister Hit-And-Run 03-12-21 08:04 S.S.

A  hit-and-run  accident  that  occurred last  night is  still  being investigated.   The  incident  reportedly  took  place  near  the  intersection  of  Buena  Vista  Road and  Brandy  Court  in  Hollister.   That’s  where  a  vehicle  hit a  fire  hydrant.   The  vehicle  wads  found  just  down  the  road  a  little  bit....but  the  suspected  driver  reportedly  fled  the  scene.    Anyone  with  information  about  this  incident is  encouraged  to  contact  the  Hollister  Police  Department.

Vaccines To All Veterans 03-11-21 07:26 S.S.

A  bill  that  would  authorize  all  veterans  being eligible  for  vaccines,  has  unanimously  passed  in  the  U.S.  House  Of  Representatives....including those  who  are  not  enrolled  in  the  V.A.  Health  Care System.    The “Va Vaccine Act” now  heads  to  the  u.s.  Senate.

Recreational Salmon Season 03-11-21 07:05 S.S.

Although  the  2021  Salmon  Season  dates  are  expected  to  be  finalized  next  month,  the  Recreational  Salmon  Fishery  will  open  between  Pigeon  Point  and  the  U.S-Mexico  Border  April  3rd.     The  minimum  size  limit  is  24  inches.  All  other  areas  of  the  California  Coast  will  remain  closed  until  further  notice.

Final  season  dates  are  expected to  be  decided during  the  virtual  P.F.M.C.  meeting  to  be  held April  6-9  and  12-15.

 

Anglers  are  advised  to  check  for  updated information  when  planning  a  salmon  fishing  trip.     Season  dates,  bag/possession  limit information  and  gear  restrictions  can  be  found  on  CDFW’s  ocean  salmon  web  page at  www.wildlife.ca.gov/oceansalmon

Central Coast Cases of Covid-19 03-11-21 06:25 S.S.

In  Monterey  county,  36  people  are  currently hospitalized  with  Covid-19,   with  8  of  those  in  the  I.C.U.    333  people  have  died.   Although  Monterey county is currently in the purple tier, the adjusted case rate is at 7.2, and it needs to be at 7 or below to move up  to  the  red  tier,  which  county  officials  believe  may  take  place  in the  coming weeks.  The case positivity rate is well below where it needs  to be.

 

In  Santa  Cruz  county,   which  is  in  the  Red  Tier,  there  are  284  active  cases.  6  people  are  in  the  hospital  and 2  of  those  are  in  the  ICU.   192  people  have  died.


in  San  Benito  county,  there  are  43  active  cases, and  2  people  are  hospitalized  with  Covid-19.   61  people  have  died.
