Hollister Warehouse Details 03.15.2021 0530 1 JS

In a recent video posted by Hollister Mayor Ignacio Velazquez, he revealed details about who owns the warehouse that was announced in February.

“Amazon is building a last-mile delivery center. They’re going to hire hundreds of people in our community to work for them. That means less people on Highway 25, more of our community working in their own town. The infrastructure is here, no need for sprawl, we’re doing it right here in Hollister!”, Mayor Velazquez said.

The distribution center is opening by September and up to 400 jobs are expected as a result of this new addition to the Hollister community.

Alternate Route For PVHS 03-14-21 11:49 S.S.

The Santa Cruz county Zoning Administrator has approved a trail system that would connect the city of Watsonville with Pajaro Valley High School. The 12-foot wide, 1.4 mile long bicycle and pedestrian trail would connect with a variety of trails through a number of local sloughs....and even eventually is planned to connect to the 32-mile Coastal Rail Trail. In the meantime, this first portion, that will create an alternate method of getting to/from Pajaro Valley High School, is now expected to break ground next year.

Ca Coastal Comm. Rejects 03-14-21 05:51 S.S.

All of the members of the California Coastal Commission have rejected a Santa Cruz man's appeal to them; regarding the proposed Riverfront Project. They unanimously agreed that Ron Pomerantz' claim, that the 7-story, mixed-use, 175-unit apartment building violated the Coastal Act, was unsubstantiated.
In fact, they also unanimously agreed that both the city, and the state's, density requirements have been appropriately honored on this project.
