Monterey county, which is scheduled to move into the red tier tomorrow, is one of only 3 counties in the state that has remained in the purple tier the whole time since the tier system was put in place. As of tomorrow, Monterey county will join San Benito and Santa Cruz county’s in the Red Tier.....
In the Red Tier people are allowed to dine outside with 3 households....or up to 6 people.
Middle and high schools that are not already open can open in the Red Tier....however they have to post a Covid-19 safety plan 5 days prior to re-opening.
The Monterey Bay Aquarium hopes to re-open to the public in the red tier....opening to limited numbers of members several weeks before doing the same for the general public.
