Housing In Wildfire Zones 03-18-21 07:04 S.S.

The  state  is  weighing  the  increased  need  for  more  housing,  against  the  risk  of  devastating  wildfires. T o  that end, California  Attorney  General  Xavier Becerra  is  backing  some  lawsuits  opposing  a  number  of  large  suburban  development  projects  planned  in  several  “Very  High  Wildfire  Severity  Zones” around the state.    He  says  that  preventing  wildfires  beats  building  more  housing  in  certain  areas  of  the  state.....especially  when  the  Environmental Impact  Reports  for the  projects  have  not  taken  a  possible  wildfire  in  that  area  into  account.

Mass Vacc Site In SC 03-17-21 18:58 S.S.

Starting  tomorrow (Thursday)  a  Covid-19  vaccination  site  is  scheduled  to  open  in  the  Kaiser  Permanente  Arena.    Eligible  Kaiser  Permanente  members  and  others  in  the  community  will  reportedly  be  able  to  get  inoculated  there  between  9  a.m.  and  5  p.m.  7  days  a  week.  To  check  eligibility  and  make  an  appointment,  people  are  encouraged  to  go on-line  to:  kp.org/covidvaccine

Should Acosta Resign? 03-17-21 18:52 S.S.

Some  are  debating  whether  former  P.V.U.S.D.  board  president  Georgia  Acosta  should  resign  her  seat  on  the  board.    At  issue  is  her  behavior  in  recent  months.  If  Acosta  says  she  will  not  resign,  petitioners  would  need  to  file  a  Notice  Of  Intention  that would  need  to  include  the  reason  for  the  intention  to  recall  her.

Stabbings in Santa Cruz 03-17-21 17:23 S.S.

2  Santa Cruz  stabbings  are  being  investigated.  The  first  was  just  after  8  a.m.  Monday  on  Josephine  Street,  and  the  2nd  was  just-after  11  a.m.  this  morning  on  Santa Cruz’  westside.    A  48  year-old man  suffered  non-life-threatening  stab  wounds  to  his  upper  body  in  the  Monday  stabbing,  while  a  60  year-old  man  was  stabbed  in  the  hand  with a  pair  of  scissors  in  this  morning’s  incident.    Anyone  with  information  about  either  stabbing is  encouraged  to  contact  the  Santa Cruz Police  Department.

Disneyland To Re-Open April 30TH 03-17-21 17:00 S.S.

Disneyland  has  announced  that  Disneyland,  and  Disney  California  Adventure,   are  now  scheduled  to  re-open  on  April  30th.    Under  state  guidelines  only  California  residents  will be  allowed  to  enter  the  parks....for  now.     Visitors  age  3  and  up  will  need  reservations.
