In state news… it’s a novel idea to charge motorists by the mile rather than at the pump for a gas tax to fund highway maintenance and repair.
Caltrans just received over 2-million dollars to finance it’s third study on the impacts of a potential “road user charge program” in rural communities.
with much of the workforce now working from home and the dawn of the electric vehicle…
Caltrans needs to find a new revenue stream outside of the state gas tax.
The grant from the Department of Transportation will enable Caltrans to track mileage thru G-P -S and study the difference between tracking on public and private roads.

A local railway, that hasn't been used in years, may soon be in use again....by people operating handcars. That after a southern California family has worked for 3 years to get old-school-styled hand cars ready. As part of that effort, they have leased a 3-mile section of track from the Transportation Agency Of Monterey County. That track is inside Fort Ord Dunes in Marina. Before the hand-cars can be used there though, the tracks will need to be cleared. The owner says he hopes to have his Hand Car Tours available to the public soon.

The Co-founders of a Silicon Valley Bio-Tech company have been indicted on multiple Federal charges of conspiracy to commit securities fraud, conspsiracy to commit health care fraud and money laundering. The owners of now-bankrupt uBiome are said to have bilked both their investors and health insurance providers of tens of millions of dollars between 2015 and 2019.

Although initially banned, due to Covid-19 concerns, sideline cheerleading and other supportive groups will now be allowed at sporting events. That's according to the California Department Of Public Health. According to the CDPH, sideline cheerleading, drum-groups, band, and several others will now be allowed to attend the games.
