Baby Hummingbirds 03-23-21 08:37 S.S.

A  couple  of  hummingbirds,  that  were  recently  blown  out  of  their  nest by the high winds,   are  being  cared  for  at  the  S-P-C-A  For Monterey  County.    The  baby  hummingbirds  are  each  about  the  size  of  a  jelly  bean,  and  they’re  being  raised  alongside  other   dove  and  pigeon  nestlings.    

People  are  encouraged  to  call  the  S.P.C.A.  if  they  see  a  nest  (or  a  baby  bird)  on  the  ground.

Loaded Handgun/Cocaine 03-23-21 07:40 S.S.

Several  people  were  arrested  in  Hollister  after  they  were  found  with  a  loaded  handgun  and  cocaine.     Officers  detained  them  after  the officers  received  reports  of  a  fight  taking  place  on the  12-hundred  block  of  4th  street.    The  arrested  people  were  booked   into  San  Benito  County  Jail.

Covid Variant in SC Co-3/22/21-1804-PMD

A new variant of Covid has been detected in Santa Cruz County. The County Health Services Agency says that two cases of the COVID-19 B.1.1.7 variant, which was fist dectected in England, have been found in Santa Cruz County. The county health department says residents should assume the variant is circulating in the area.

New Vaccine Schedule-3/22/21-1806-PMD

All Californians may be eligible for vaccinations in the near future. At a recent press conference Governor Newsom stated that vaccination supplies should be adequate to provide inoculations to all residents 16 years old and older. That will be a total of 32 million doses of the vaccines. The California Department of Public Health would not release any more details about future vaccine eligibility at this time.
