The ground has now been broken on an Amazon distribution facility in Hollister. The location of that facility is at the corner of Flynn and San Felipe Roads.....which is south of the Hollister Municipal Airport. They expect to have the distribution center operational by the end of the summer and then they expect to need to hire hundreds of full-time and part-time workers. They have a national starting wage of 15 dollars per hour.

Starting April 10th, people will be able to (on a limited basis) visit prison inmates once again. The top officials at each prison will decide if the entire facility, or just portions thereof, will allow visitors....with visiting times varying depending on the number of active cases of Covid-19. Precautions at each prison will include temperature checks, symptom screenings, coronavirus testing, physical distancing, facial coverings, and limits on both the numbers of visitors and how long they can stay.

A recently rescued gull was released back into the wild yesterday. The gull was found with multiple fishhooks in his face, beak, and wing.....when he was seen in the yard of a seaside home earlier this month. The gull was cared for, and rehabbed by, the S.P.C.A. Monterey County Wildlife And Rehabilitation Center. The hooks made it impossible for him to eat or drink. After some treatment they were able to sedate him and remove the hooks, and then they needed to rehab him. He was released back into the wild at Seaside State Beach.
