Gray Wolf In SB Co. 03-30-21 07:25 S.S.

A Gray Wolf that was born in the mount hood area of Oregon has wandered into San Benito county. OR-93 traveled down the central valley of California and then headed west to get here, crossing highway 99 and 5 on the way. It remains to be seen how long OR-93, who is looking for a mate, will stay in the area. He is the first known wolf to make it this far southwest since the 1800s. Wolves are protected under the California Endangered Species Act.

Aromas Gun Arrests-3/29/21-1851-PMD

An investigation led to the arrest of 2 Aromas men on Friday. On Friday, a SWAT team ser ved a search warrant on Rea Avenue in rural Aromas. The search uncovered a "large amount" of drugs, cash, several illegal guns and body armor. They also determined that guns were being manufactured at the home. A 39-year-old man and a 31-year-old man were arrested and booked into the Monterey County Jail on weapons and drug charges.

Celebrities In Monterey -3/29/21-1556-PMD

Monterey residents had the chance to bump into a couple of celebrities over the weekend. Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton were posted on Chris' Fishing and Whale Watching’s Facebook page catching fish and crabs. The couple then stopped for lunch at Cafe Fina in Monterey

Salinas Bicyclist Shot-3/29/21-1554-PMD

A Salinas bicyclist was wounded by gunfire early Monday. Shortly before 1:30 a-m police were alerted to a shooting by the shot spotter system. At the scene they found a 31 year old man suffering from a gunshot wound. An investigation determined that the driver of a black SUV shot the bicyclist before fleeing on Sanborn Avenue. The victim is expected to recover.
