CA Intl Marathon Reg Open 04-07-21 09:45 S.S.

The registration has opened for this year’s California International Marathon. Runners are encouraged to sign up early, as the registration will be processed in a First Come - First Served manner. The marathon is scheduled to be run on December 5th this year. People who signed up for last year’s event can use their vouchers for this race. People can register by going on-line to: RunsRa.org.

Tree Worker Injured 04-07-21 07:13 S.S.

A tree worker suffered major injuries yesterday. A rope system had to be used to rescue him from 300 feet down a hill after the tree he was in fell down a steep hill. That incident took place near Pescadero on the edge of the CZU burn area.

Man Cited After Burglary 04-07-21A 0656 3 S.S.

A man has been cited for burglarizing a local store. That after he broke the window of the yogurt shop on water street, and stole the cash register. Santa Cruz police officers had to release the 49 year-old Oakland man because the Santa Cruz County Jail won’t accept any inmates unless they have been violent, or sexuall y attacked someone due to special rules related to the pandemic.

O-I Shooting In Aptos 04-07-21 06:23 S.S.

An officer-involved shooting occurred last night in Aptos. That after Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s officers noticed that one of the 2 people in a “suspici ous vehicle” had a handgun. While working to detain that suspect the suspect fired a round, and one of the deputies discharged his weapon, hitting the suspect, who was transported to an area hospital and is expected to survive. Neither the deputies nor the passenger were injured in this incident.
