LOCKDOWN LIFTED IN SALINAS - 09/20/10 18:30 S.S.

A  lockdown  at  alisal community  school in  salinas   was  lifted  in  time  for  students  to  be  released  at  their  normal  time  yesterday.      The  lockdown  was  put  in  place  as  a  safety  precaution  after  the  Salinas  Police  Department received  reports  of  “shots  fired”  near  Williams  Road.      Salinas  police  officers  found  no  injured  people,   and  no  evidence  that  shots  had  been  fired……so  the  lockdown  was  lifted.

THE  SALINAS  CALIFORNIAN  NEWSPAPER  IS  REPORTING  THAT  THE  ALISAL  COMMUNITY  SCHOOL  IS  ON  LOCKDOWN.  THIS  IS  REPORTEDLY IN  RESPONSE  TO  A  SHOOTING  THAT  TOOK  PLACE  ON  WILLIAMS  ROAD.  PLEASE  STAY  TUNED FOR  MORE  INFORMATION  ON  THIS  BREAKING  STORY  IN  KSCO AM-1080'S  4 THROUGH 6:30 P.M.  LOCAL  NEWSCASTS  THIS  AFTERNOON.

K.C. EARLY MORNING SHOOTING 09-20-10 11:10 a.v.

A girl is in stable condition after being shot while she was asleep in her King City home over the weekend.   The just after 3 a.m. Saturday shooting occurred in the 200 block of Oxford Avenue when someone fired several rounds at the home.  The gunmen, who are still being sought, were last seen in a black vehicle headed southbound on Oxford Avenue toward Amherst Drive.   Anyone with any information is asked to contact the King City Police Department.

PG&E MONTEREY TREE REMOVAL 09-20-10 10:50 a.v.

Work begins today in Monterey to remove trees near the Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s Viejo substation. The 44 trees have been identified as potential hazards to substation equipment as well as a major threat to reliable service for customers in the Monterey area. The work is expected to take 2 weeks to complete.
