MISSING MARINA BROTHERS 09-22-10 05:50 a.v.

Marina police are asking for the public’s help in locating 2 juveniles who were reported missing last night. 10-year old Ryan Knox and 9-year old Daniel Knox were last seen at Marina Vista Elementary School on Carmel Avenue wearing blue polo shirts and blue pants carrying a red and black checkered back pack and a blue back pack with white stripes. Police received a call from the boys father at 7:45 p.m. last night reporting they had not yet returned home from school. The two normally go to the Marina Civic Center after school, but never showed up. Police say they are no signs of foul play and continue an on-going investigation. Anyone with any information is asked to call Marina police at 831-884-1210 or call 9-1-1.

WVILLE SKATEBOARDER INJURED 09-22-10 05:10 a.v.

A 15-year old boy was airlifted to an area trauma center after being struck during a hit and run incident last night in Watsonville. The boy was skateboarding near the entrance of an apartment complex on the 400 block of Beck Street at around 8:30 p.m. when the driver of a 1990s  light blue Honda hit him then fled the scene.  The boy suffered cuts to his head.  Police are still searching for the driver.

SALINAS TIRE BURGLAR ARRESTED 09-21-10 19:10 a.v.

A man was arrested today after falsely reporting that he was a victim of an armed robbery. 22-year old Matthew Vowles told officers that he was robbed after 2 men pointed a gun at him while he was riding his bike on the 1100 block of Eagle Drive in Salinas.  Police instead learned that Vowles tried stealing spare tires from the so-called suspect, who reportedly tried scaring Vowles by pointing a BB gun at him, after learning that he tried stealing his tires. Vowles admitted to police that he falsified the robbery report and told officers he was out all night stealing tires. He was booked into Monterey County Jail on suspicion of filing a false police report, possession of burglary tools and violation of probation.

LOVERS POINT BEACH ADVISORY 09-21-10 18:50 a.v.

An advisory has been issued this week for Lovers Point Beach in Pacific Grove. Due to high indicator bacteria found in samples taken yesterday, the beach will remain posted until samples show indicator bacteria are at a safe level for recreational water contact according to state guidelines. It is recommended that you do not swim in or have contact with storm drain water. Bacteria, viruses, protozoa or chemicals may contaminate storm drain water, and contact with storm drain water may cause illness.

MISSING AUTISTIC GIRL FOUND. 09-21-10 18:00 a.v.

A missing autistic girl was found today in Scotts Valley. The 7-year old girl (who doesn’t speak), went missing today from her Via Vinca home at around 3:30 p.m. Deputies found the girl at around 4:45 p.m. this afternoon north of her home, in a neighborhood off Highway 17 between Santa Cruz and Scotts Valley.
