A vegetation fire was reported yesterday about 15 miles northeast of King City near the intersection of Lonoak Road and State Route 25. Approximately 5 acres of grass and brush along Lonoak were already engulfed in flames when fire crews responded. Retardant was dropped to slow the spread of the fire until ground resources arrived to complete containment. State Route 25 was closed for about 20 minutes during retardant drops. No structures were threatened, and an investigation into the cause of the blaze continues.
