3 ARRESTED IN SALINAS - 09/30/10 18:39 S.S.

3  PEOPLE  WERE  ARRESTED  IN  SALINAS  TODAY.   Christopher Estes, Patricia Hall and  Anthony Strunk wERE arrested  IN  CONNECTION  WITH  ILLEGAL  WEAPONS  AND  NARCOTICS,  AS  WELL  AS  STOLEN  PROPERTY.   DURING SEARCHES  OF  A  HOME ON  LOMA  DRIVE AND  A  BUSINESS  ON  BURTON  DRIVE,     approximately 2 OUNCES of methamphetamine, mushrooms, scales, packaging material, a stolen motorcycle, and 13 firearms were seized.   Estes, Hall, and  Strunk were booked into Monterey County Jail.

KNOWN NORTENO ARRESTED - 09/30/10 18:00 S.S.

A  KNOWN  NORTENO  MEMBER  WAS  ARRESTED  TODAY  IN  SOLEDAD.     JUAN GABRIEL  “ZIGGY”  HERNANDEZ,   WHO  HAS  REPORTEDLY  BEEN  ARRESTED  IN  THE  PAST  FOR  ARMED  ROBBERY  AND  ATTEMPTED  MURDER,    NOW  FACES  NEW  CHARGES  OF  SUSPICION  OF  ASSAULT  WITH  A  DEADLY  WEAPON,    EVADING ARREST,  AND  COMMITTING 2  COUNTS  OF  SEXUAL  ASSAULT.     HERNANDEZ  WAS  BOOKED  INTO MONTEREY  COUNTY  JAIL.

Officer pleads N/G 09/30/10 10:45am TDH

A Salinas police officer appeared in court earlier this week, to plead not guilty to several sex crimes.   44-year-old Lance Mosher entered the plea on Monday.   He is accused of committing various offenses against a minor, first in 2005.   Pacific Grove police arrested Mosher, after they began investigating the allegations in April.   Mosher is on paid administrative leave from the Salinas Police Department, and is free on 2-hundred-thousand dollars bail.    He is slated to return to court on October 26th.

RECALL: Fisher-Price Products 09/30/10 10:30am TDH

The toy-manufacturer Fisher-Price is issuing a recall of more than 10-million products.   The recalls are for various safety hazards on several products.  The biggest recall is for the company’s Fisher-Price Trikes and Tough Trikes toddler tricycles.   For a full list of affected products, go to the company’s website at: www.service.mattel.com.    Or, go to the Consumer Product safety Commission’s site, at:   www.cpsc.com.

W.V. police inspection 09/30/10 9am TDH

The Watsonville Police Department resumed officer inspections yesterday(wed), after going 4-years without them.  The department had cut the officer inspection ceremony due to budget cuts.   Officers were inspected for uniform and grooming standards, and were presented with medals and certificates for outstanding police work.   Watsonville saw an 8-percent decrease in crime last year, and has seen a 3-percent decline so far this year.
