STATE FURLOUGH ORDER UPHELD 10-04-10 10:50 a.v.

A unanimous decision was reached today in The California Supreme Court to uphold the Governor’s order to furlough state workers. Today’s ruling is said to validate Governor Schwarzenegger’s furlough program, which state employee unions have been challenging ever since a 2-days-a-month furlough, which later turned into 3-days-a-month, was implemented last February for over 200,000 state workers in an effort to save the state money. The move reportedly gave a 14% pay cut to government employees.
