A man who was being sought for committing a string of crimes in Carmel Sunday, was arrested yesterday. 23-year old Tanner Scott Turner was booked into Monterey County Jail on suspicion of assault, attempted burglary, robbery, car-jacking, possession of a concealed weapon and elder abuse. Turner reportedly assaulted a person for their wallet and car at 6:30 p.m., then he demanded the keys to a car from another person in a Carmel hotel parking lot at 9:30 p.m. Turner is currently awaiting arraignment.

Police in Marina are asking for the public’s help in locating those responsible for a rash of vehicle break-ins last month in the city. Police announced yesterday that 16-vehicles were broken into between September 27th through the 30th by suspects who smashed the vehicle’s windows and reportedly stole loose items found inside the cars. The break-ins all occurred on the South side of the city between Reservation Road and Reindollar Avenue and between Bayer and Messenger Drives during early morning hours.

Cabrillo College board members unanimously approved a construction bid for a planned Green Technology Center in Watsonville. Yesterday's approval comes after the total cost of the bid for the 14,000 square foot student education center was cut. Board members approved the 6.8 million dollar project after identifying $500,000 in cost-cutting measures. The new Green Technology Center, which will be used to educate students on the practices of green building, will be built on the site of the old Watsonville Library on Union Street.

A 55-year old Santa Cruz man was arrested after leading a CHP officer on a car chase in Aptos yesterday. The officer attempted to pull over Norman Leon Santos near Freedom Boulevard after he was weaving in and out of lanes on Southbound Highway-1. Santos, who was eventually pulled over just North of Elkhorn Slough, was arrested just before noon and was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail on charges of failing to yield and driving under the influence of drugs.
