Salinas Child Molester 10/11/10 0800 E.A.

A convicted child molester from Salinas is currently being sought by the police. 68-year-old Thomas Meza Lagunes was recently released from jail, but failed to get a GPS monitoring bracelet. Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Lagunes is asked to contact the Salinas Police Department.

Seaside Hit and Run 10/11/10 0800 E.A.

An investigation into a hit and run in Seaside led to the seizure of a drug stash. Seaside Police responded to a report of a hit and run on Del Monte Boulevard, the passenger of the suspect was left behind at the scene. The officers recovered a bag from the passenger containing nearly 2 grams of methamphetamine and 31 hydrocodone pills. The driver of the vehicle is still being sought. Anyone with any information on this incident is encouraged to contact the Seaside Police Department.

4 ARRESTED IN BURGLARY CASE 10-11-10 06:50 a.v.

Thousands of dollars in stolen goods were recovered last week after 4 people were arrested in connection with a string of burglaries in Monterey and Santa Cruz Counties. Monterey County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested, 42-year old Jeff Sampayan, 38-year old Dyanne Beach, 28-year old John Silveria and 21-year old Alyssa Sims. Nearly 1-thousand dollars worth of stolen jewelry, laptop computers, watches, tools along with 3 stolen motorcycles, were recovered. Investigations into this case continue.

W.V. Stabbing 10/10/10 TDH

1-person was airlifted to a Bay Area trauma center, with critical injuries, after being stabbed in Watsonville this weekend.   The victim was assaulted at a barber shop on the 1-hundred block of East Lake Avenue, at around 8 o’clock Saturday night.   He sustained multiple stab wounds, to his head, stomach, and hand.  Police have not made any arrests in the case.

Fatal Salinas Tractor Accident 10/10/10 TDH

A 26-year-old man died Saturday, after being pinned underneath a tractor in Salinas.    The accident occurred just after 8 p.m., in a field near Cooper Road and Highway-183.   The tractor got stuck in a ditch, and overturned, pinning the driver underneath it.   Authorities are waiting to release the victim’s identity, until his family can be notified.
