Police in Scotts Valley and other agencies are cracking down on aggressive drivers today. The effort is part of the program called “Before Aggressive Drivers Get Everybody Stopped”, which seeks to reduce collisions and make streets safer. Police are targeting the main arteries in Scotts Valley and will also be on the lookout for drivers not wearing their seat belts.

A 20-year old Los Gatos man, who was suspected of robbing a Santa Cruz hotel clerk at knifepoint Sunday, has been identified. The suspect, Michael Joshua Fox-Kent was arrested at about 6 p.m. Sunday, 10 minutes after he reportedly robbed the Plymouth Street hotel. Fox-Kent was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail on suspicion of armed robbery, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

12 people were detained on Halloween in connection with a strong arm robbery in Seaside. A man was walking to a friend's house on Laguna Street when he was approached by several people who demanded the contents of his pockets. The group of people then began punching and kicking the victim as they removed his phone and money from his pockets. 6 people were arrested, 4 of which were juveniles and 2 adults. One of those adults was released with no charges, the other, 22-year-old Eder Antonio Gomez, is being held in Monterey County Jail.
