A  67  YEAR-OLD  MAN  HAS  BEEN  SENTENCED  TO  SPEND  3  MONTHS  IN  SANTA  CRUZ  COUNTY  JAIL,   AND  PAY  NEARLY  5 THOUSAND  DOLLARS  IN  RESTITUTION.      DANIEL  JUDD HAS  ALSO  BEEN  ORDERED  TO  RETURN  THE  TITLE  OF  A  BEN  LOMOND  HOME  TO  ITS  RIGHTFUL  OWNERS  (BEFORE  THIS  WEEKEND).

 

ALL  OF  THAT  AFTER  JUDD PURCHASED  THE  HUBBARD  GULCH  ROAD HOME  FROM  A  MAN  HE  KNEW  DID  NOT  RIGHTFULLY  OWN  IT.    THAT  OTHER  MAN,  RAY  TATE  III,   HAS  ALREADY  BEEN  SENTENCED  TO  SPEND  5  MONTHS  IN  JAIL.

SEX OFFENDER ARRESTED - 06/17/10 12:15 S.S.

A  REGISTERED  SEX  OFFENDER  WAS  ARRESTED  IN  THE  POGONIP THIS  WEEK,  AFTER  HE  FAILED  TO  REGISTER  WITH  SANTA  CRUZ  POLICE  OFFICERS  (THE  WAY  HE  WAS  SUPPOSED  TO).      46  YEAR-OLD  MARK  STEPHEN  SIRI-ANNI,   WHO  HAS  A  HISTORY  OF  INDECENT  EXPOSURE AND  SEXUAL  BATTERY CONVICTIONS,   IS  REQUIRED  TO  CHECK-IN  WITH  POLICE  ONCE  A  MONTH;    AND  THE  LAST  TIME  HE  DID  SO  WAS  APRIL  22ND.

A  LOCAL  BEACH  HAS  BEEN  POSTED   WITH  ADVISORY  SIGNS.      BASED  ON  ELEVATED  LEVELS  OF  BACTERIA  CAPITOLA  BEACH EAST  OF  THE  JETTY HAS  BEEN  POSTED  WITH  WATER  QUALITY  ADVISORY  SIGNS.     WATER  TESTING   WILL  CONTINUE,    AND  THE  SIGNS  WILL  REMAIN  POSTED,   UNTIL  THE  BACTERIA  LEVELS  RETURN  TO  THOSE  THAT  ARE  DEEMED  SAFE  FOR  HUMAN  CONTACT.

BRUSH FIRE - HOMELESS - 06/17/10 08:30 S.S.

A  BRUSH  FIRE  BEGAN  NEAR HIGHWAY  101 IN  SALINAS  LAST  NIGHT.     THE  11  P.M.  BLAZE  STARTED  WITH  A  MATTRESS  (IN  A  HOMELESS  ENCAMPMENT)  CATCHING  FIRE,   NEAR  THE  CREEK  OFF  GRIFFEN AND  JOHN  STREETS.      IT  TOOK  FIREFIGHTERS  LESS  THAN  AN  HOUR  TO  GET  THE  BLAZE  UNDER  CONTROL.

SPECIAL OLYMPIC TORCH RUN - 06/17/10 08:00 S.S.

A  LEG  OF  the  SPECIAL  OLYMPIC  TORCH  RUN IS  EXPECTED  TO  TAKE  PLACE  THIS  MORNING  IN  SALINAS.    THE  NORTHERN  CALIFORNIA  SPECIAL  OLYMPICS  LAW  ENFORCEMENT  TORCH  RUN IS  SLATED  TO  BEGIN  AT  9 A.M.  IN  FRONT  OF  SALINAS  CITY  HALL….AND  END  IN  THE PARKING-LOT  OF  THE  RED  LOBSTER  RESTAURANT ON  NORTH  MAIN  STREET  AROUND  9:45  A.M.   AT  THAT  POINT  A  FUNDRAISING  CHECK  WILL  BE  GIVEN  TO  THE  NORTHERN  CALIFORNIA  SPECIAL  OLYMPICS….AND  THEN  THE  TORCH  WILL  BE  PASSED  TO  THE  CALIFORNIA  HIGHWAY  PAYROLL.
