WEDNESDAY NIGHT’S DRIVE-BY - 08/11/10 23:35 S.S.

2  PEOPLE  HAVE  BEEN  ARRESTED  IN  CONNECTION  WITH  TONIGHT’S  DRIVE-BY  SHOOTING  IN  SALINAS.    ALTHOUGH  NO  ONE  WAS  INJURED  WHEN  SHOTS  WERE  FIRED  AT  A  MAN  STANDING  OUTSIDE  A  KELTON  DRIVE  HOME,   A  STRAY  BULLET  DID  HIT  A  NEARBY  HOME.       2  JUVENILES  WERE  ARRESTED  A  SHORT  TIME  LATER  (NEAR  THE  INTERSECTION  OF  McKINNON  AND  HARDEN  PARKWAY)  IN  CONNECTION  WITH  THAT SHOOTING.

EAGLE RECYCLING FIRE - 08/11/10 23:28 S.S.

HUMAN  ERROR  IS  BELIEVED  TO   HAVE  STARTED  LAST  WEEK’S  FIRE  AT  THE  EAGLE  RECYCLING  PLANT  NEAR  HOLLISTER.   VIDEO  SURVEILLANCE  FOOTAGE  SHOWED  PLASTIC  AND  CARDBOARD  AROUND  THE  EXHAUST  PIPE  OF  A  BOBCAT,   THAT  WAS  BEING  DRIVEN  AROUND  THE  PLANT.       IT  ALSO  SHOWED  THAT  NO  ONE  NOTICED  WHEN  THE  FIRE  BEGAN,  ALTHOUGH  WHEN  THEY  DID  NOTICE,  WORKERS  IMMEDIATELY  TRIED  TO  PUT  IT  OUT  WITH  FIRE  EXTINGUISHERS.   

IT  TOOK  FIREFIGHTERS  5  DAYS  TO  FULLY  CONTAIN  THE  BLAZE,   WHICH   DESTROYED  ABOUT  75 PERCENT  OF  THE  BUILDING.

WATSONVILLE AGGIES - UPDATE 08-11-10 11:35 a.v.

After winning the quarterfinals in the Babe Ruth World Series yesterday, the Watsonville Aggies will now advance to the semifinals today. The Aggies beat cross plains, wisconsin 11 to 6 in the 1st round of the elimination portion of the tournament, and now move on to play Portland, Oregon today at 4 p.m. Watsonville has won 4 straight games since losing it’s tournament opener to Mobile, Alabama.

MAN ARRESTED THIS A.M. - 08/11/10 18:00 S.S.

A  19  YEAR-OLD  MAN  WAS  ARRESTED  IN  SANTA  CRUZ  EARLY  THIS  MORNING.     THAT  AFTER  HE  TOOK A 1  MAN’S  WALLET  AFTER  BEATING  UP ANOTHER  MAN  OUTSIDE  OF  A PACIFIC  AVENUE BAR  AROUND 1:30 A.M.     THE  33 YEAR-OLD  BEATING  VICTIM  SUFFERED  SERIOUS  FACIAL  INJURIES  AND  WAS  HOSPITALIZED  FOR  TREATMENT.    MARQUIS  EDWARDS WAS  BOOKED INTO  SANTA  CRUZ COUNTY  JAIL.

B.B.’s FIRED ON WATER STREET - 08/11/10 17:54 S.S.

NO  ONE  WAS  INJURED  WHEN  A  MALE  PASSENGER  IN  AN S.U.V.  FIRED  B’B’S  AT  A  MAN   IN  SANTA  CRUZ.   THE   9:45  P.M. MONDAY  NIGHT   INCIDENT  OCCURRED  ON  WATER  STREET NEAR  POPLAR  AVENUE.     ANYONE  WITH  ANY  INFORMATION  ABOUT  THE  CHARCOAL  GRAY  TOYOTA  4-RUNNER,    ITS  DRIVER,  OR  THE  SHOOTER, IS  ENCOURAGED  TO  CONTACT  THE  SANTA  CRUZ  POLICE  DEPARTMENT.
