HOME BURNS IN MORGAN HILL - 12/01/10 17:40 R.B.

THE RESIDENTS AND SOME OF THEIR DOGS WERE ABLE TO ESCAPE A RECENT MORGAN HILL HOUSEFIRE UNINJURED, ALTHOUGH SEVERAL PUPPIES WERE NOT SO LUCKY. THE FIRE OCCURRED IN A HOME ON THE 3200 BLOCK OF BUTTERFLY LANE, AFTER TWO HEAT LAMPS WERE LEFT NEXT TO A CARDBOARD BOX WHICH HOUSED A LITTER OF PUPPIES. SANTA CLARA COUNTY FIRE INVESTIGATORS BELIEVE THE FIRE WAS STARTED BY THE PROXIMITY OF THE HEAT LAMPS TO THE CARDBOARD BOX, ALTHOUGH FAULTY POWER STRIPS MAY ALSO BE TO BLAME. THE RESIDENTS HAD JUST FINISHED BUILDING THE HOME A YEAR PRIOR TO THE BLAZE, AND DESPITE THE EFFORTS OF BOTH NEIGHBORS AND FIREFIGHTERS, THE HOME WAS LEFT COMPLETELY GUTTED.
