Researchers in the Pacific Northwest discovered that a toxic chemical used in the production of tires is killing coho salmon in Washington state and is now believed to affecting the salmon population in California.
The chemical is known as “6-p-p-d” and was found in waterways near the San Francisco bay and close to other creeks and streams around major freeways.
On the central coast, the Coho salmon face extinction with only one percent of the population remaining.

In effort to keep passengers and drivers safe, the Santa Cruz Metro bus service yesterday decided to temporarily suspend some of its routes.
Routes 3,40 and 41 will be suspended entirely… modifications will also be made to the highway 17 Amtrak route.

The appointment means Panetta will serve on the democratic steering and policy committee… he will also shape the house policy agenda.
There are only eight congressional members selected to serve as chief deputy whips.

A popular dating site is slapped with a 10-thousand dollar penalty for its renewal policies by the Santa Cruz county district attorney.
Match group incorporated which includes, Match.com, Tinder, Plenty o Fish and ok Cupid, is engaged in unfair business practices by making it difficult for consumers to cancel the service and avoid the automatic renewal.
California law requires dating websites and apps to provide a three day right to cancel and provide a complete copy of the contract.
