Starting today, Santa Claus and his helpers will be driving through Watsonville neighborhoods....and they plan to do that through December 18th. Santa’s visits start at 4 p.m.
This is when he will be in each part of the city:
- Dec. 9- District 1 - includes: Landmark Elementary School, Ramsay Park, Target, Notre Dame School, Radcliff Elementary, and the U.S. Post Office.
- Dec. 10- District 2 - includes: City Plaza, Cabrillo College, and Watsonville High School.
- Dec. 11- District 3 - includes: Rolling Hills Middle School, Freedom Elementary School, Watsonville Airport, The Home Depot, and Freedom Library.
- Dec. 16- District 5 - includes: Starlight Elementary School, Cesar Chavez Middle School, and Auto Center Drive.
- Dec. 17- District 6 and 7 - District 6 includes: Hyde Elementary School, PVUSD Administration Offices, Crestview Park, SMV Watsonville, and Cassidy's Pizza. District 7 includes: MacQuiddy and Ann Soldo Elementary Schools, Franich Park, Bay Village Senior Community and the Pajaro River Levee.
- Dec. 18- District 4 - includes: Ohlone Parkway, Clifford Ave., Peace Drive Park, Hope Drive Park, Seaview Park, and Green Valley Christian School.

The Deferred Action For Childhood Arrivals program (also known as DACA) has been reinstated. That means that undocumented immigrants, who could be eligible, can now apply. Applicants need to meet specific criteria to be eligible to apply to the DACA program.

2 fire agencies in Santa Cruz county plan to consolidate to form a new fire district that will cover both areas. No lay-offs, or loss of rank, seniority, pay or other benefits is expected when the Aptos/La Selva Fire District merges with the Central Fire Protection District....although a new Board Of Directors will be created.

2 people have been arrested in connection with a number of robberies around Santa Cruz county. Dalton Delaney and a teenager are believed to have robbed people at gunpoint in Santa Cruz, Capitola, Soquel, and the Live Oak area of Santa Cruz. Delaney was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail, while the teen was booked into Santa Cruz County Juvenile Hall. Investigators believe the 2 may have robbed more people, and anyone with information on this case is encouraged to contact the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office.
