500 free take and bake pizzas are going to be handed out to people Christmas Eve In Watsonville. As a way to give back to the community, the owner of the main street 7-Eleven (and 4 others in Santa Cruz and Monterey counties) will be handing out the pizzas starting at 11 a.m. at 1461 Main Street in Watsonville. She said they usually allow each child to pick a toy, but due to Covid-19, and the fact that choosing a toy can take a fair amount of time, they decided to hand out pizzas this year. She says they’ll be marking 6 foot spaces outside and she recommends that people wear their masks and come early to get in line. At 11 o’clock she, her business partner, and employees will start handing out the pizzas.

A man has been arrested in connection with a solo vehicle accident that took place last month. Randy Dale Sanders was arrested yesterday, in connection with the major injury accident he reportedly ran from on November 23rd. That after Sanders was “spinning donuts” when his passenger was thrown from the vehicle. That passenger was hospitalized with major injuries.

After 60 years of helping people in the community, a pacific grove alcohol and drug addiction treatment center will be closing at the end of this month. Non-profit, in-patient Beacon House was founded in 1959, and will close its doors December 31st.

2 people are being sought in connection with a robbery at a Marina convenience store. Reportedly the robbery occurred at the 7-eleven on Beach Road around 11:45 p.m. last Friday. The Hispanic man and woman allegedly took cash from the register, and a 12 pack of Modelo beer. They were spotted leaving the scene in a dark-coloured S.U.V.....that may have been a Suzuki xl-7. Anyone with information on the robbery, or the suspects involved, is encouraged to contact the Marina Police Department.
