MOST WANTED WOMAN ARRESTED - 04/06/13 15:15 S.S.

A  WOMAN  WAS  ARRESTED  IN  SANTA  CRUZ  YESTERDAY.  JENNELLE  RENEE  ARNOLD,  WHO  WAS  ON  THE  COUNTIE'S  "MOST  WANTED"  LIST  WAS  ARRESTED FRIDAY  MORNING  ON  AN  OUTSTANDING WARRANT.     SHE  WAS  BOOKED  INTO SANTA  CRUZ COUNTY  JAIL.

WHS SHORT EVAC FRIDAY - 04/06/13 15:09 S.S.

A  PLAYING  FIELD  AT  WATSONVILLE  HIGH  SCHOOL WAS  EVACUATED  FOR  ABOUT 2  HOURS  FRIDAY,   AND  OTHER  NEIGHBORS  WERE SENT  NIXLE ALERTS.              THAT'S BECAUSE  SANTA  CRUZ  COUNTY   9-1-1  DISPATCHERS  RECEIVED  A  CALL  ABOUT  A MAN  WHO  WAS  CONSIDERING  SHOOTING  HIMSELF,  OR  MAYBE  A  FAMILY  MEMBER, ON  THE  300 BLOCK  OF  RIVERSIDE  DRIVE.      THE  ALERT WAS  CALLED  OFF  AROUND 5  P.M.,   WITH NO ONE  INJURED  AND  NO  ONE  ARRESTED.

HIGHWAY 9 CLOSED 4/6/13 - 16:44 PMD

A QUARTER-MILE STRETCH OF HIGHWAY 9 IS SCHEDULED TO BE CLOSED FOR 2 DAYS THIS WEEK.   THE SECTION OF ROADWAY BETWEEN GLEN ARBOR ROAD AND HIGHLAND PARK WILL BE CLOSED TUESDAY APRIL 9TH AND WEDNESDAY APRIL 10TH. WHILE THE HIGHWAY IS BEING RE-SURFACED, A DETOUR WILL BE SET UP FOR MOTORIST DURING THE   7 A-M TO 7 P-M CLOSURES.

FRIDAY STAND-OFF - 04/06/13 11:48 S.S.

2 SALINAS  POLICE  OFFICERS  WERE  INJURED  WHILE  TRYING TO  ARREST  A  MAN  AFT2ER   A  10 HOUR  STAND-OFF  IN  SALINAS  YESTERDAY  (FRIDAY).   THE INCIDENT  ON  TEHAMA  CIRCLE  BEGAN FRIDAY  MORNING  WHEN  47  YEAR-OLD EMOTIONALLY  DISTURBED  SAM  BAHRI ATTACKED   THE OFFICERS  IN  HIS  FRONT  YARD,  AND  THEN  BARRICADED  HIMSELF  IN  HIS  HOME.  NEARBY NATIVIDAD  ELEMENTARY  SCHOOL WAS  PLACED  ON  LOCKDOWN  FOR A  WHILE,   DUE  TO THE  STAND-OFF.   BAHRI WAS  EVENTUALLY  SEDATED   AND  TAKEN  TO NATIVIDAD MEDICAL  CENTER FOR PSYCHIATRIC  EVALUATION.   THE  INJURED  OFFICERS  WERE TAKEN  TO  NATIVIDAD  FOR  TREATMENT.

FRIDAY NIGHT 9 DIFFERENT LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES TARGETED SOUTH MONTEREY COUNTY GANGS.   THE GANG SUPPRESSION OPERATIONS ARE PERFORMED A COUPLE TIMES A YEAR.  FRIDAY THE DIFFERENT UNITS CHECKED UP ON CLOSE TO 30 PAROLEES. THIS IS THE 34 TH YEAR THE OPERATION TO CURB GANG ACTIVITY HAS BEEN IN EFFECT.
