Chase, arrests 01/22/12 TDH

5-teenagers were arrested on Saturday, after leading c-h-p officers on a high speed chase from pleasure point to Watsonville.  4-juveniles were booked into santa cruz county juvenile hall following the pursuit, while 19-year old jose Zavala was booked into county jail.   All of the suspects are facing auto theft charges, and Zavala is also accused of possession of a concealed weapon.  after fleeing from officers at speeds of more than 100-miles per hour, the suspects’ vehicle spun out at main street and freedom boulevard, which allowed officers to make the arrests.

Road rage arrest 01/22/12 11:50p.m. TDH

2-people were arrested in the santa cruz summit area on Saturday.  That, after 19-year-old scotts valley resident Kayla malone allegedly brandished a gun at someone during a road rage incident.  21-year-old kai jen was also arrested after the incident ocurred on highway-17.  jen is facing D-U-I charges, while malone is facing accusations of brandishing a handgun, and other charges.


Wanted Man Arrested 01/20/12 5p.m. TDH

A wanted man was arrested on Thursday in the Watsonville area.   santa cruz county sheriff’s deputies pulled over 33-year-old juan Ramirez Pacheco just before noon, at airport boulevard and green valley road.   Deputies allegedly found drug paraphernalia in the vehicle, and determined Pacheco was wanted for 3-outstanding warrants.  He was taken into custody, and booked into santa cruz county jail.

SVMH Contract Vote Postponed 01/20/12 5p.m. TDH

Following union approval of a new contract, the board of directors of salinas valley memorial hospital is scheduled to meet next week to vote on the deal.  Board members were expected to meet today to approve the contract deal, however they will forgo the special session, and hold a vote at their regularly scheduled meeting.  That meeting is scheduled for Thursday, the 26th.  If approved, the contract deal will end a year of negotiations that included strikes, lockouts, and further animosity.

S.J. Amber alert cancelled, girl safe 01/20/12 4p.m. TDH

A suspect in a child abduction was shot and killed today in san jose.  11-year-old taylor vo was kidnapped at 1 a.m., by a man identified as tri le. Le was shot at a san jose apartment by san jose police officers, after officers say he opened fire on them from a window and when they entered the apartment.  The girl, taylor vo is safe, the amber alert has been cancelled.
