HIGHWAY PARTNERSHIP GONE 7/31/2012 10:30A.M. B.B.

THE MULTI-COUNTY PARTNERSHIP THAT WAS LOOKING AT WIDENING HIGHWAY 152 AND MAKING IT A TOLL ROAD, HAS DISBANDED. THE PARTNERSHIP FELL APART AFTER THE LOS BANOS CITY COUNCIL VOTED UNANIMOUSLY AGAINST THE MERCED COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS PROVIDING 7 MILLION DOLLARS TOWARD A 25 MILLION DOLLAR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT. THE COUNTIES AND ORGANIZATIONS INVOLVED WITH THE PARTNERHIP WILL WORK ON SMALLER PROJECTS IN IT'S STEAD, BUT THE LANE WIDENING WILL BE AN AFTERTHOUGHT.
