DUE  TO  FEDERAL  BUDGET  CUTS,  THE  U.S..  AIR  FORCE  THUNDERBIRDS….ONE  OF  THE  BIGGEST  ATTRACTIONS  AT  THE  CALIFORNIA  INTERNATIONAL AIRSHOW  SALINAS,  WON’T  BE  FLYING  THERE  THIS  YEAR.     A  STATEMENT  ON  THE  PRECISION  FLYING  TEAM’S  WEBSITE  SAYS  SEQUESTRATION  CUTS  HAVE  CAUSED  OFFICIALS  TO  CANCEL  60  FLYING  DEMONSTRATIONS,   SO  THEY  CAN  RE-ALLOCATE  THOSE  FLYING  HOURS  TO  “COMBAT-READINESS  TRAINING”.

2 ARRESTED W/ FIREARMS - 04/15/13 18:25 S.S.

2  PEOPLE  WERE  ARRESTED  IN  KING CITY  AFTER  THEY  WERE  CAUGHT  WITH  A  PAIR  OF  FIREARMS.     28  YEAR-OLD  KNOWN  GANG  MEMBER  ERNIE  ZUNIGA,  AND  18  YEAR-OLD MACKENZIE  MANSFIELD, WERE  BOOKED  INTO  MONTEREY  COUNTY  JAIL.    THEY  BOTH  FACE  POSSIBLE  CHARGES  OF  BEING  INVOLVED  WITH  A  CRIMINAL  STREET  GANG,    POSSESSION  OF  A  STOLEN  FIREARM,    AND   GANG  ENHANCEMENTS.

LOCAL RUNNERS IN BOSTON - 041513 15:40 S.S.

A  SALINAS  RUNNER  (AND  HER  SPECTATOR  HUSBAND)  ARE  O.K.,  AS  IS  A  CASTROVILLE  RUNNER,  (AND  HIS  FAMILY).    STEPHANIE  BOUQUET WAS  ALREADY  BACK  AT HER  HOTEL,   ATHOUGH HER  HUSBAND  WAS  ABOUT A  BLOCK  FROM  THE  FINISH  LINE  WHEN  THE  2  DEVICES  EXPLODED  TODAY.    CASTROVILLE  RUNNER  DANIEL  TAPIA,  WHO  WAS  THE  2ND AMERICAN  TO  CROSS  THE  FINISH  LINE  TODAY  (AND  THE  9TH OVERALL)  WAS  EATING  LUNCH  WITH  HIS  FAMILY  WHEN  THE  EXPLOSIONS  OCCURRED.   BOUQUET  AND  TAPIA  WERE  JUST  2  OF THE  27 THOUSAND  RUNNERS  WHO WERE  OFFICIALLY TAKING PART  IN  TODAY’S  WORLD- RENOWNED  BOSTON  MARATHON. CELLPHONE SERVICE  WAS  SHUT  DOWN  IN  THE  AREA  DUE  TO  CONCERNS  OF  THE  POSSIBILITY  OF  SOMEONE  SETTING  OFF  AN EXPLOSIVE  DEVICE  REMOTELY.    THERE  ARE  REPORTS  (THAT  IN  A  SEARCH  OF  THE  AREA)  2  MORE  DEVICES  WERE  FOUND.    AT  LEAST  2  PEOPLE  WERE  KILLED  AS THE  RESULT  OF  THE  EXPLOSIONS,  AND  SEVERAL  DOZENS  OTHERS  HAVE  BEEN WOUNDED.

A  THIRD  INCIDENT  (THIS  TIME  AT  THE  J.F.K.  LIBRARY SEVERAL  MILES  AWAY)  WAS  REPORTEDLY  NOT  CONNECTED  WITH  THE  2  MARATHON  EXPLOSIONS.

THE  FEDERAL  AVIATION  ADMINISTRATION HAS  BARRED  LOW-FLYING AIRCRAFT  FROM  WITHIN 3.5  MILES  OF  THE  SITE.

ANYONE  WITH  ANY  INFORMATION  ABOUT  ANYONE  ELSE   FROM THE  TRI-COUNTY  AREA  RUNNING  IN  THE  BOSTON  MARATHON  IS  ENCOURAGE   TO  CALL  ME.

SALINAS BUSINESS OWNER ON TRIAL - 4/15/2013 10:00 KWJ

A SALINAS BUSINESS OWNER WAS SLATED TO GO ON TRIAL IN MONTEREY COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT TODAY.    43-YEAR-OLD ROBERT DeLEON FACES ATTEMPTED MURDER AND ASSAULT CHARGES, STEMMING FROM A 2012 BEATING, THAT LEFT 55-YEAR-OLD RAMON ANDERSON (A HOMELESS MAN) IN A COMA.     DeLEON IS ONE OF THE OWNERS OF A LOCAL  RESTAURANT ANDERSON FREQUENTLY LOITERED IN FRONT OF.    IF CONVICTED,  DeLEON COULD FACE BETWEEN NINE AND FOURTEEN YEARS IN THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS.

MAN SENTENCED TO 18 YEARS - 4/15/13 09:40 KWJ

29-YEAR-OLD NICHOLAS BEUS, OF FELTON,  WAS SENTENCED TO 18

YEARS IN PRISON ON FRIDAY.      BEUS,  A CAREER CRIMINAL WAS

SENTENCED ON MULTIPLE CHARGES,  INCLUDING FIRST AND SECOND

DEGREE RESIDENTIAL BURGLARYGRAND THEFT, EVADING AN OFFICER

AND BEING A THREE STRIKES OFFENDER.      HE ALSO LED POLICE ON

MULTIPLE HIGH SPEED CHASES USING STOLEN VEHICLES AND ALSO

HAD OTHER PRIOR FELONY VIOLATIONS.     BEUS WAS FACING FOUR

TWENTY-FIVE YEARS TO LIFE  SENTENCES.    SANTA CRUZ COUNTY

SUPERIOR COURT JUDGE ARIADNE SYMONS SENTENCED BEUS.     HE IS

EXPECTED TO SERVE 85% OF HIS TIME BECAUSE OF HIS CRIMINAL PAST.
