A convicted felon was taken into custody over the weekend after Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Deputies found a gun at his home. Deputies served a search warrant Saturday on the 300-block of Dufour Street, where they found 32-year old Bryan Tennyson in possession of a shot gun with it’s serial number scratched off, ammunition, and drug paraphernalia. Tennyson is being held in Santa Cruz County Jail on $75,000 bail.
Santa Cruz County authorities say they are unable to identify a man who was burned to death over the weekend, due to the severity of his burns. The man was found dead in his Aptos home on the 97-hundred block of Monroe Avenue just before 12:30 Saturday morning, after a fire gutted the 3-story residence. Santa Cruz County Sherriff’s Deputies say laboratory testing is needed in order to release his identity, which could be as soon as this week. Fire officials believe the blaze started in a kitchen on the top floor of the home, but still don’t know what caused the fire since access to the top floor has been destroyed.
