A Monterey County Jail inmate, who faces a charge of committing homicide, escaped yesterday. 22 year-old Luis Armando Sarabia is accused of a gang-related shooting of a 19 year-old in Greenfield as that man was washing his car on the 200 block of 7th Street. Sarabia is described as a 5 foot 10 inch tall man who weighs about 240 pounds. Anyone with information on Sarabia’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.
Felton Cal-Fire reports that there are currently a number of small fires their firefighters are working on containing in the Santa Cruz Mountains. All are small, with the largest at about 2 acres. They were sparked by trees bringing down power lines.
3 people were arrested in Soledad. that after the vehicle they were in was stopped due to a violation. the driver was driving on a suspended license, and a loaded short-barreled AR-15 “ghost gun” was found in the vehicle. the 3 were booked into Monterey County Jail.
The Santa Cruz Elks Lodge was able to provide clothes toys and food to 19 families with 39 children. That was as part of their adopt-a-family program.
