AN ALTERNATIVE FOLK AND ROCK SINGER STAGED A SIT IN OUTSIDE A SANTA CRUZ NIGHTCLUB THAT HAD CANCELED HER SHOW AFTER SHE MADE AN ANTI-GAY SLUR.   MICHELLE SHOCKED SAT OUTSIDE MOE’S ALLEY WITH TAPE ACROSS HER MOUTH AND STRUMMING HER GUITAR.   SHOCKED MADE THE ANTI-GAY SLUR EARLIER THIS MONTH AT A SAN FRANCISCO NIGHTCLUB AND HAS HAD NUMEROUS PERFORMANCES CANCELLED BECAUSE OF IT.

GILROY BOXER ARRESTED 3/29/13 6:00a DMF

A BOXER FROM GILROY LEFT A NEW YORK COURTHOUSE YESTERDAY AFTER BEING ARRESTED AT J.F.K. AIRPORT FOR TRYING TO TAKE AN UNLOADED GUN THROUGH SECURITY.  JUST A MONTH BEFORE HIS NEXT SCHEDULED FIGHT IN LAS VEGAS SECURITY ALSO FOUND 15-BULLET CLIPS ON ROBERT “THE GHOST” GUERRERO.  HIS NEXT COURT APPEARANCE IS SET FOR MAY 1st.

CHP OFFICER DEATH INVESTIGATION 3/29/13 9:00a DMF

THE MONTEREY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE IS CURRENTLY CONDUCTING AN INVESTIGATION REGARDING THE ACCIDENTAL DEATH OF AN OFF DUTY C.H.P. OFFICER.  THE PRELIMINARY INVESTIGATION INDICATES 41-YEAR-OLD BRYAN WRIGHT HAD BEEN WORKING ON A VEHICLE AT HIS SOUTH MONTEREY COUNTY RESIDENCE WHEN THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED.

WALGREENS CONSTRUCTION BEGINS 3/29/13 6:00a DMF

 

CONSTRUCTION HAS BEGUN ON THE WALGREENS IN HOLLISTER.     THE PROJECT IS AT THE CENTER OF A DEBATE BETWEEN CALTRANS AND THE CITY OF HOLLISTER OVER A DRIVEWAY ENTRANCE.    WALGREENS HOPES TO OPEN THE 14,550 SQUARE-FOOT STORE NEAR TRES PINOS ROAD BY OCTOBER.   AN AGREEMENT WAS MADE A YEAR AGO TO BUY THE 1.47 ACRES OF LAND FROM THE CITY FOR AROUND 900 THOUSAND DOLLARS.

SUMMER WATER RESTRICTIONS 3/29/13 7:00a DMF

SANTA CRUZ CITY WATER OFFICIALS ARE VYING FOR WATER RESTRICTIONS IN LANDSCAPE AND OTHER NON-ESSENTIAL USES.     IN THE MONTH OF MARCH LESS THAN ONE INCH OF RAINFALL WAS SEEN AND WITH INCREASED STATE REGULATIONS ANOTHER LOW WATER YEAR IS TO COME.    A REPORT WILL BE BROUGHT BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL ON APRIL 23rd TO DECIDE WHETHER THE LACK OF RAIN AND INCREASED REGULATIONS MAKE IMPOSING A WATER RESTRICTION FOR SUMMER NECESSARY.
