MONTEREY CO JAIL FUNDS-12/12/13-17:00-PMD

 MONTEREY COUNTY HAS BEEN TURNED DOWN FOR REHABILITATION PROGRAM JAIL FUNDING.  MONTEREY COUNTY WAS ONE OF 36 COUNTIES THAT APPLIED FOR GRANTS OUT OF A 5-HUNDRED MILLION DOLLAR FUND ADMINISTERED BY THE BOARD OF STATE AND COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS.  21 OTHER COUNTIES ALSO DID NOT RECEIVE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FUNDING FROM THE BOARD.  THE COUNTY HOWEVER DID RECEIVE 80 MILLION DOLLARS IN STATE JAIL EXPANSION FUNDING.

A  NEW  PRINCIPAL  HAS  BEEN  APPOINTED  FOR  PACIFIC COLLEGIATE CHARTER  SCHOOL.    39  YEAR-OLD  SIMON   FLETCHER,  WHO  IS  THE  FATHER  OF  2,   HAS  SERVED  AS  THE  SCHOOL’S  INTERIM  PRINCIPAL  SINCE  LAST  MARCH.      ALTHOUGH   FLETCHER  ONLY  HAS  A  1  YEAR  CONTRACT  AS  PRINCIPAL  RIGHT  NOW,    A  LONG  TERM  CONTRACT  FOR  HIM  IS  EXPECTED  TO  BE  VOTED  ON  NEXT  MONTH.   

FLETCHER  HAS  WORKED  AT  P-C-S  SINCE  ITS  FOUNDING  IN 1999.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY IN WVILLE TODAY - 12/12/13 13:54 S.S.

A  RESIDENTIAL  BURGLARY,  THAT  TOOK  PLACE  IN   WATSONVILLE  TODAY,   IS   BEING  INVESTIGATED.     A  HOMEOWNER  REPORTED  THAT  SHE  RETURNED  HOME EARLY  THIS  AFTERNOON  TO  FIND  HER  HOME  BROKEN INTO  AND  RANSACKED.      JEWELRY,  AND  OTHER  ITEMS,  ARE  SAID TO  HAVE  BEEN  TAKEN  FROM  THE  HOME  ON THE  100  BLOCK  OF  GARDNER.     THE BURGLARY  IS  BELIEVED  TO  HAVE OCCURRED BETWEEN  8  A-M  AND 12:45  P-M.     

ANYONE  WITH  ANY INFORMATION  ABOUT  THE  BURGLARY,  OR  THE  BURGLAR  IS  ENCOURAGED  TO  CONTACT  THE  WATSONVILLE  POLICE  DEPARTMENT.

CFBF PRESIDENT RE-ELECTED - 12/12/13 11:18 S.S.

DELEGATES  OF  THE  CALIFORNIA  FARM  BUREAU  HAVE  ONCE  AGAIN  RE-LECTED  PAUL  WENGER  AS  PRESIDENT.     THIS  BEGINS  HIS  THIRD  CONSECUTIVE  2-YEAR  TERM.     AFTER  THE ELECTION,   WENGER  TOLD  THE  DELEGATES  THAT  HE  WOULD  CONTINUE  TO  DO  AS  MUCH  AS  HE  COULD  TO  HELP  SUPPORT,  PROTECT,  AND  PROMOTE  CALIFORNIA’S  AGRICULTURE.   

FIRST VICE PRESIDENT  KENNY  WATKINS,   AND  2ND  VICE  PRESIDENT  JAMIE  JOHANSSON,   WERE  ALSO  ELECTED  TO  3RD  TERMS  IN  THEIR  OFFICES.
