XL GRINDHOUSE IN OLDTOWN SALINAS COULD LOSE ITS LIQUOR LICENSE FOLLOWING ITS TWO OWNERS ARRESTS FOR THE ATTEMPTED MURDER OF A HOMELESS MAN.   ON MONDAY ROBERT DELEON PLEAD NO CONTEST TO ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON AND FACES 9 YEARS IN PRISON.    HIS BROTHER JAMES DELEON PLEAD NO CONTEST TO BEING AN ACCESSORY AND FACES SIXTH MONTHS JAIL TIME AND THREE YEARS PROBATION.    THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF ALCOHOL BEVERAGE CONTROL IS NOW LOOKING INTO DISCIPLINARY ACTION, WHICH COULD INCLUDE FINES, A SUSPENSION OR EVEN THE REVOCATION OF XL GRINDHOUSE’S LIQUOR LICENSE.

FOLLOWING A 4-YEAR ECONOMIC CRASH THAT AFFECTED THE HOUSING MARKET GREATLY, CONSTRUCTION HAS BEGAN ON THE OAK CREEK RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT IN GILROY.  THE PROJECT SITE SITS NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF LUCHESSA AVENUE AND MONTEREY ROAD AND AIMS TO PROVIDE 213 HOMES TO THE COMMUNITY.     THE OAK CREEK DEVELOPMENT IS THE LARGEST BUILDING PROJECT TO TAKE PLACE IN GILROY IN THE PAST 5 YEARS.

ROAD WORK HIGHWAY 101 4/26/13 8:00a DMF

STARTING MONDAY NIGHT OVERNIGHT ROAD WORK ON HIGHWAY 101 WILL SHIFT TRAFFIC BETWEEN DUNBARTON ROAD AND COLE ROAD IN MONTEREY COUNTY.    TRAFFIC LANES WILL BE CROSSED OVER BETWEEN 7:30 P-M AND 6 A-M FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 WEEKS.    DETOUR SIGNS AND MARKERS WILL CLEARLY INDICATE THE SHIFT OF TRAFFIC AS BOTH NORTHBOUND AND SOUTHBOUND TRAFFIC WILL BE AFFECTED.    THE TRAFFIC CROSSOVER IS NECESSARY TO ALLOW CREWS TO COMPLETE DRAINAGE WORK FOR THE SAN JUAN ROAD INTERCHANGE PROJECT.
