A  SANTA  CRUZ  SUPERIOR  COURT  JUDGE  HAS  ORDERED  A  28  YEAR-OLD  MAN  TO  STAND  TRIAL.      JOSHUA  JOHN  BACCI IS  ACCUSED  OF  STEALING  VINTAGE  LIQUOR  (AND  A  PASSPORT)   FROM  A  SCOTTS  VALLEY  HOME.     BACCI IS  SCHEDULED  TO  BE  BACK  IN  A  SANTA  CRUZ  COUNTY  COURT  ROOM   MARCH   21ST.

SOLO VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN SALINAS - 03/08/11 07:00 S.S.

1  PERSON  WAS AIR-LIFTED  TO  AN  OUT-OF-COUNTY  TRAUMA  CENTER  YESTERDAY  AFTER  A  SOLO  VEHICLE  ACCIDENT  IN  SALINAS  YESTERDAY  MORNING.      A  WOMAN  WAS  DRIVING  THE  CAR  (WITH  HER  2  CHILDREN  IN  IT)  WHEN  THE  VEHICLE  OVERTURNED  ON  THE  NORTHBOUND  SIDE  OF  HIGHWAY  101, JUST  SOUTH OF  AIRPORT  BOULEVARD.      A  CAL-STAR  HELICOPTER LANDED  ON  the  NORTHBOUND  LANE  TO  PICK  UP  THAT  ACCIDENT  VICTIM.

AROUND  5:15  THIS  MORNING,   A  WATER  MAIN  BROKE  IN  AROMAS,  LEAVING  CARR  AVENUE FLOODED  JUST  EAST  OF  CARPENTERIA  ROAD.    THE  WATER  REPORTEDLY  SHOT  UP  A  WAYS  INTO  THE  AIR.

SOLEDAD FATAL SHOOTING - update - 03/07/11 16:30 S.S.

A  WOMAN  SUFFERED  FATAL  GUNSHOT  WOUNDS  TODAY  IN  SOLEDAD.       57  YEAR-OLD  LAURENCIA  M  HIRACHETA HAD  REPORTEDLY  JUST  GOTTEN  INTO  HER  CAR  (IN  A CARPORT  ON  BUENA  VISTA  DRIVE NEAR  VOSTI  PARK)  WHEN  THE  7  A.M.  SHOOTING  OCCURRED.        A  LOCAL  PRE-SCHOOL  WAS  PLACED  ON  A  TEMPORARY  LOCKDOWN  WHILE  SOLEDAD  POLICE  OFFICERS  SEARCHED  FOR  THE  GUNMAN.      ANYONE  WITH  ANY  INFORMATION  ON THIS  CASE  IS  ENCOURAGED  TO  CONTACT  THE  SOLEDAD  POLICE  DEPARTMENT.

RIO DEL MAR POWER OUTAGE - UPDATED 03-07-11 12:30 a.v.

Power was restored shortly before noon today to 1,700 PG&E customers in the Rio Del Mar area of Santa Cruz County. PG&E crews responded to the outage just before 8 a.m. after some tree branches fell on power lines at Freedom Boulevard and Soquel Drive. Customers were affected on parts of Rio Del Mar Boulevard, Clubhouse, and Cathedral Drives.
