More Electrical Outages-UPDATE 1.25.2021 0830 1.b JS

IN SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, SEVERAL POWER OUTAGES ARE AFFECTING RESIDENTS IN THE MOUNTAINS.
• Over 2,400 customers have been affected in Felton and points as far south as Glengarry Road; along Felton Empire Road, portions of Empire Grade and as far East as Graham Hill Road at Lockwood
• Over 180 customers along Lower Highway 236 lost their electricity shortly before 7 AM; estimated time restoration is 12:45PM.
• ONLY 10 PG&E CUSTOMERS ARE AFFECTED UP RYDER ROAD IN SCOTTS VALLEY; restoration time is 10 AM.
• OVER 60 CUSTOMERS UP LAUREL GLEN ROAD; 3PM estimated restoration time.
• About 200 customers located along Old San Jose Road with a 10:30 AM restoration estimate.
• 100 customers affected along Pine Flat Road in Bonny Doon; estimated restoration time of 1 PM
• OVER 1,200 CUSTOMERS LOCATED ALONG HIGHWAY 35 AT THE COUNTY LINE ARE STILL AFFECTED.
• Hidden Springs Lane area: 4 PM restoration
 
Monterey County
• Over 150 customers east of the Carmel Highlands lost their electricity.
• And over 700 customers in the Ambler Park area off Highway 68, including those off Portola Drive in Monterey County are without their lights.
PG&E estimates both of these outages being resolved by 1 PM.

San Benito County Tier 1B 1.25.2021 0650 4 JS

 Starting today, residents of San Benito County who are 65 years or older, work in education, childcare, emergency services, food, agricultural and other sectors within the Phase 1B, Tier 1 of California’s vaccination plan may sign up to receive a COVID-19 vaccine by filling out a form located on the San Benito County Health & Human Services Agency website.

River Fire Burn Scars 1.25.2021 0640 3 JS

Due to the incoming storms, debris flow is also an issue for South Salinas residents near the River Fire burn scars.

Currently, there have been no evacuation orders or warnings called for residents in Monterey County.

Residents who live near the burn scar of any of the recent wildfires or those who haven’t done so are encouraged to sign up for Reverse 9-1-1 alerts.

The website to sign up for these alerts by call or text within the Monterey County area can do so by going online to AlertMontereyCounty.Org.

Evac Warning Short 1.25.2021 0540 2 JS

With the upcoming atmospheric river and potential for debris flow, areas of the San Lorenzo Valley and Davenport, including those along Swanton Road are now under evacuation warning.

Late Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning we are expecting a wind and heavy rain event.

The National Weather Service is expecting anywhere from 8-12 inches with heavy rain and wind starting Tuesday Night.

An evacuation warning means being prepared to leave immediately with a bag packed and planned evacuation route prior to the heavy rain event.

More Electrical Outages 1.25.2021 0530 1 JS

In Santa Cruz County, several power outages are affecting residents in the mountains due to heavy winds overnight.

  • Nearly 150 Only 10 PG&E customers are affected up Bean Creek Rd, Weston Road, and Ryder Road in Scotts Valley
  • Over 60 customers up Laurel Glen Road
  • About 200 customers located along Old San Jose Road
  • Over 1,300 customers located along Highway 35 at the county line.

 

Pacific Gas & Electric reports that most of these customers should see their electricity restored by 8 AM today.
