BOIL WATER ORDER - CARMEL AREA - 4/22/13 08:48 S.S.

A  BOIL  WATER  ORDER  HAS  BEEN  ISSUED  FOR  ABOUT   100  HOUSEHOLDS  IN  THE  AREAS  OF  CARMEL  KNOLLS AND  CARMEL  HILLS.      THAT  AFTER  THERE  WERE  2  WATER  MAIN  BREAKS  THERE.         THE  WATER  WILL  BE  TESTED  TO  DETERMINE  IF  BACTERIA  LEACHED  INTO   THE  SYSTEM  AS  A  RESULT  OF THE  WATER  MAIN  BREAKS.

IT  IS  RECOMMENDED  THAT  PEOPLE  BOIL  THE   WATER  IN  THE  AFFECTED  AREAS  FOR  AT  LEAST  1  MINUTE  BEFORE  CONSUMING  IT.

SEASIDE SHOOTING SATURDAY - 04/22/13 08:35 S.S.

A  MAN  SUFFERED  NON-LIFE-THREATENING  INJURIES  WHEN  HE  WAS  SHOT  IN  SEASIDE  EARLY  SATURDAY.   THE  INCIDENT  OCCURRED  JUST  AFTER  4   A-M,   ON  THE  16  HUNDRED  BLOCK  OF  KENNETH.     JUST  MINUTES  AFTER  THAT  SHOOTING,  ANOTHER  ONE  OCCURRED  ON  THE  12  HUNDRED  BLOCK  OF  ORD  GROVE  AVENUE.       IN  THE SECOND  SHOOTING THE  BULLETS  MISSED  THE  INTENDED  VICTIM,  AND  INSTEAD  HIT  A  GARAGE  AND  A  FENCE.      ANYONE WITH  ANY  INFORMATION  ABOUT EITHER SHOOTING IS  ENCOURAGED  TO  CONTACT  THE  SEASIDE  POLICE  DEPARTMENT.

CAPITOLA, HAD ITS 10TH ANNUAL, CITY WIDE YARD SALE ON SATURDAY.    FOLLOWING THE YARD SALE WEEKEND, IS CAPITOLA’S SPRING CLEANING WEEK.    STARTING ON TODAY AND CONTINUING THROUGH THE 26TH, RESIDENTS ARE ALLOWED TO THROW OUT UNWANTED ITEMS LEFT OVER FROM THEIR YARD SALE, OR SPRING CLEANING, AT NO ADDITIONAL COST. THE ITEMS WILL BE PICKED UP CURB SIDE WITH THE REGULAR GARBAGE PICK UP.

ROYAL OAKS FIRE - 4/21/13 19:40 PMD

A GRASS FIRE BROKE OUT ON MAHER ROAD ON SATURDAY.   SEVERAL DIFFERENT AGENCIES WERE CALLED TO THE SCENE OF THE FIRE IN BETWEEN PRUNEDALE AND AROMAS. CONTAINING THE FIRE WAS MADE DIFFICULT BY HIGH WINDS, WARM TEMPERATURES AND DRY BRUSH.  FIRE CREWS WERE FINALLY ABLE PUT OUT THE BLAZE, HOLDING DAMAGE TO ABOUT AN ACRE.    THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE IS UNDER INVESTIGATION.

COST OF HOMELESSNESS IN GILROY REVIEWED - 04/21/13 16:20 GE

THE HOMELESS ISSUE IN GILROY IS  ABOUT TO BE LOOKED  AT BY GILROY POLICE CHIEF DENISE TURNER. DATA ON THE IMPACT THAT HOMELESSNESS HAS ON POLICE RESOURCES AND THE CITY OF GILROY, WILL BE GATHERED, AND PRESENTED TO THE CITY COUNCIL.       TURNER WILL JOIN IN ON A CITY WIDE STAFF MEETING ON APRIL 23RD TO SHARE THE FINDINGS ON THE GATHERED DATA, AND HOPEFULLY PAINT A CLEAR PICTURE OF JUST HOW THIS TRANSIENT AND HOMELESS PROBLEM IS MONOPOLIZING CITY RESOURCES.
